Approved Certifier of Design – Energy (Domestic)
As a new build domestic energy assessor and Approved Certifier of Design for Section 6 of the Building Standards Domestic Technical Handbook, services are provided to clients and other architects/designers to demonstrate compliance for domestic conversions, alterations and extensions, and new build housing projects throughout Scotland. Submission of a Certificate of Design with the Building Warrant application attracts a discount on the Building Warrant application fee.
Advice can also be provided on Section 7 of the Building Standards Domestic Technical Handbook – Sustainability and producing Section 7 Sustainability Certificates.
Services provided to architects/designers and their clients:
- Advice on compliance with Section 6 of the Domestic Technical Handbook including compensatory approach heat loss calculations
- SAP calculations for new dwellings based on drawings and specifications by others
- Advice on ways of achieving a pass rating in the event of the initial calculation resulting in a fail rating
- Advice on achieving the space and water heating Aspects defined in Section 7 (Sustainability) of the Technical Handbooks
- Generation and lodging of Energy Performance Certificate(s) (EPCs) on completion of works
